I wrote this pattern over a year ago and this is my very very first pattern written. It is written in women's size S. "Mighty Whity" is the result of the combination of two rectangular(s). Women's size small (S).
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Width 14”
Length 19”
MATERIALS
Yarn: FOUR SEASONS Miami (100% mercerized cotton; 120 yd [110m]/50g): #1 white, 4 balls.
Needles: A tapestry needle and a pair of Size 6 (4mm) straight knitting needles.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
GAUGE
24 sts and 30 rows = 4” in pattern on size 6 (4mm) needles after blocking.
1 pattern rep = 1” wide and 1” high on size 6 needles after blocking.
STITCH GUIDE
Fishtail Lace: (Multiple of 8 sts +1)
Row 1: (RS) k1, *yo, k2, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k2, yo, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 2 and all WS rows: Purl
Row 3: k2, *yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k3; rep from * to last 7 sts, yo, k1, sl 1, k2tog, psso, k1, yo, k2.
Row 5: k3, *yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k5; rep from * to last 6 sts, yo, sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3.
Rep Rows 1 to 6 for pattern.
BACK
CO 89 sts. Next row: knit. Next row: purl. Work in Fishtail Lace pattern (see Stitch Guide) until piece measures 19” from CO. (You may knit longer). Bind off.
FRONT
Repeat exactly like Back piece.
FINISHING
Join shoulders (top of back piece and front piece), 12 sts each side. Join side seams (sides of the back piece and front piece), 78 rows each side. Trim off ragged threads.
optional: Lace may be added around the sleeves to look more girlish.
